Gary scrutinized the photo, tracing his finger over the initials on the man's neck. The letters were undoubtedly significant, but he couldn't be certain of their meaning. DG could stand for anything, even a high-end fashion brand like Dolce and Gabbana.

Gary slouched into his armchair, intently examining the initials. The "&" symbol nestled between the letters hinted at the amalgamation of two names, perhaps of lovers. However, the dot punctuating the letters confirmed that it was a complete name.

And there was always a place to start. Banking on the possibility that the tattooed man had a criminal record, Gary knew that a call to the New York police department was his only option to access the names of former inmates within the last ten years. Judging from his appearance, the man he was searching for looked to be in his late twenties.
