The Invite
***Day Forty***
A heavy pounding woke me from my slumber. It took me a moment to realize the pounding was coming from the front door. Evander was already walking down the stairs by the time I opened the door.
One of the soldiers was standing in the doorway trembling. “Sorry Commander for waking you so early but a letter just arrived from the Blood moon pack.”
My ears perked up at the mention of the Blood Moon pack. I feared the worst. Was there something wrong with my parents?
“What does it say?” I asked him without giving him a chance to read it.
Evander opened the smooth white envelope. Inside was an invitation. My stomach almost dropped at the sight of the white card with fancy writing. A wedding invitation.
