Chapter 73

Laila’s point of view.

So it's the weekend of Zane and Emily's wedding in vegas, I’m packing a case to take with me and since we've been home, Adam has spent every night either at the bunker or in my apartment with me. He’s been working alongside Maddox on the security aspect of the team and He’s also applied for medical school, where he starts back in September, and I’m so bloody proud of him.

Maddox has been hooking up with a nurse he met whilst he spent a night at the hospital after the explosion. This is massive for my brother, and I’ve never known him to date anyone, and I’m pretty excited to meet her.

Adam zips up his own case as he asks.

Are you ready, baby?”

I smile, fastening my case as I reply. “Yeah, I’m all packed.”

We grab our luggage as we make our way to the garage, where the minibus is waiting for us and the rest of the team to take us to the airport; Maddox walks into the garage hand in hand with a tiny dark-haired woman;
