Chp 11 Pt. 1 Betrayal

My heart flutters at the thought of this stranger stealing my first kiss. I don’t know what is wrong with me because he is leaning in and I am not pulling away. I tilt my head and begin to close my eyes as screams erupt from around us.
“Rogues!”
Everyone is running as chaos erupts. Many have shifted and are protecting those who cannot shift or are unable to at the moment.
“Kat wait!”
I hear the stranger calling after me but I don’t hesitate as I feel the shift happening.
‘How is this possible Irena? The moon is not at it’s apex yet.’
‘How are you able to speak to me at such an early age? You are special Katerina.’
The shift happens with ease, no pain whatsoever which is not normal. I have been told the first shift is quite painful but it gets easier over time.
