LEONA’S POV

“Darren, stop! Let him go!” I meddled. Andrei was not backing down, “Darren!”

I turned to Andrei and apologized. I was fixing his shirt but Darren pulled me back to our table.

“Why are you apologizing to him? Are you on his side?”

“I’m taking sides here. Darren, his your cousin. You shouldn’t fight with family!” I raised my voice so he could hear me clearly. The music was so loud and it was hard for us to understand each other without yelling on our faces.

“He started it!” Darren looked away. His eyes was staring at Andrei’s direction who was gazing at him, “Babe, I don’t want us to fight over some unimportant person. Fine! I got carried away with anger. Just don’t get mad at me. Okay?”

Darren held me close. He really changed. Before, when he’s mad, he would pour it out on me or blamed me. It was so unusual how he pleaded and wheedled.

“Sorry,” he peck my forehead.
