LXXXI: Game Time

She knew that he was not a violent man, and that image of wanting to be with her was nothing more than a pantomime to keep her distracted, but she would not allow him to get away with it. If Pedro wanted to play, she would give him a worthy opponent.

Maya would rather think it that than have herself kill him later.

She calmly dressed, and when she went out to the living room, Pedro, arranged as he was always, saw her and said smiling.

“What a pleasure you give these eyes!”

The only thing that his movie lines caused was that Maya was getting more and more irritated. But this time, she had an answer.

“Is it nice to see me?”

Pedro nodded as he stood up and walked towards her, his slender, well-behaved figure standing a few feet away when he asked, “Who wouldn’t be happy to see you?”

Maya smiled and, with some coquetry, said, “Well, I ask it because the lock is not doing well to my skin.”
