Alexis beamed at her words giving a gasp of relief, but her happiness didn’t last long as she noticed the uncomfortable glance Emilia gave Shane.
“Are you okay?” She asked but her voice was over spoken by Shane.
“Emilia Chamomile… it’s been a long while” his voice was sarcastically welcoming.
Alastair glared at the paper work at his desk, he diligently worked through it, stamping here and there or just plain burning the sheets. His mind kept creeping back to the girl he left in the dungeon.‘Was she okay? Was it too cold? Would she be fine?’ The questions seemed to make him second guess his judgment and he had walked to the door a dozen or so times with intention of freeing her and then returning with a reluctant face.
They walked ahead, the smell of vanilla stronger with each step. The most eerie bit was the lack of sound up ahead and when they finally reached the entrance, Hector was first to enter the large clearing.Followed by him was Adam and Alexis, the latter of which paused and looked behind her with a frown.
