One Hundred and Thirty One

May’s POV

I woke up in my bed, the soft morning light filtering through the curtains, and it casted a warm glow across the room.

“Oh shit, I’ve overslept today.” I whispered in my mind, then I realized I was wrong. I haven’t overslept. I wasn’t going to work or anything.

Yawning, I stretched my arms above my head, feeling the remnants of sleep clinging to my senses. Damn, I was going to need a cold shower, and maybe a very hot and black coffee to help wake me up completely.

Groaning lowly in my throat, I turned away from the window as I blinked against the gentle brightness of the morning sun, its warmth caressing my face. Normally, it was something I would have liked, but I just didn’t think that was what I needed now.

I should have dropped the blinds last night before falling face down into bed face first. Slowly, I reached for my phone, tucked beneath the pillow where I always kept it without opening my eyes.

It took me a while to open my eyes as I looked at the phone I was holding
