Chapter 2: Reality Check

What on earth is going on? Why am I in a cell? Why are these women here with me? Questions begin going through my mind unending. I decide I can’t just sit here worrying over something I have no control over and get up. I can see dim lights down the hallway and walk over to the bars. Maybe I can get some answers by looking around and I subconsciously reach for the door.

A woman’s voice from behind warns “I wouldn’t touch that if I were you.”

But it was to late. I touched the door and a painful shock radiated though my body causing me to fall back. Luckily I managed to catch my balance before I fell. My hand started twitching on its own. Shocked and in pain I tried to hold my hand some how thinking it would ease the pain that is radiating up my arm.

“I told you not to touch it.” came from that same voice.

Looking around I see a woman sitting up in the far corner of the cell looking at me. The lights that were dim instantly turned bright lighting up the whole place. I could see cells lining the hallway. When the place lit up all the women woke up in a panic and huddled against the far wall in the cell.

The woman who spoke to me ran up and grabbed me by the arm and pulled me to her corner. She pushed me down with the rest of the women and whispered “Don’t move or make a sound.” While she tried to cover my hand behind her.

“What do we have here?” as three men walk up to the cell “Trying to escape are we?”

All of the women are huddling close together and some I can hear crying under their breath. The man who talked was standing in front of the cell door, he had reddish brown hair spiked up and had an aura of arrogance written all over his face. The other two men just stood behind him like watch dogs keeping quiet.

The woman next to me grabs my head and makes me look down and away from the men.

“Was it you?” a man voice asks.

I can hear a woman gasping and wincing in pain and I can’t help but look to see what happened. Shocked I can see her dangling up in the air next to the cell door as she tries grabbing at her neck as if something invisible is strangling her. No it’s not invisible I can see faint purple lights swirling around her neck.

The man dumbfounded looking at the woman “No, wasn’t you.”

He then waves his hand and she is thrown back into the far wall of the cell. As she fell all the women parted so she fell hard onto the floor. No one even tried to help her as she began wheezing and coughing trying to get air back in her lungs. The man started pacing outside of the cell pointing at each woman, it looked like he was counting. As he made his way to the side of the cell where I was he stopped and noticed me.

“You there.” he said with a stern voice.

I could see purple lights radiating out of his hands and like a flash they were around my neck in an instant. My whole body was picked up in the air and pulled towards the bars of the cell in front of him.

With a look of disappointment in his eyes “So you’re the one who tried to escape.”

He grabbed my right hand through the bars holding it up visibly showing my fingers proving his point.

That same woman who warned me spoke up “She’s new, they brought her in while we were sleeping. She didn’t know.”

He looks at me. “Well I guess I can’t punish you since you obviously didn’t know,” as he slowly shows a devilish smile on his face.

I can feel the grip on my neck loosen and move down to both my shoulders still holding me in place.

He looks over at one of the men standing behind him “If you please.”

The man nods and I can see blue lights coming from his hand to mine encircling my fingers. The pain I felt goes away and the redness disappears.

The man holding my hand “Feel better my dear?”

He goes to kiss my fingers, but I quickly pull my hand from his grip. Not happy with my sudden defiance I’m pulled hard into the cell bars almost knocking the wind out of me as I gasp for air. One of the cell bars are between my breasts and it hurts, it feels like my whole body is going to be ripped in two.

The man angrily brushes away a hair from my face and caresses my cheek “You’ll learn not to anger me in time.”

I try to squirm my way out of his hand, unfortunately this brought attention to my rather large breasts. I’ve always hated my breasts, I swear they brought out the pervert in every man.

A wolfish grin spread across his face as he looked down at them “Well aren’t you well endowed.” His hand slowly traces down my jaw line then moved to my neck continuing downward.

Someone cleared their throat right before he got to one of my breasts which made him stop to look. Another man was standing in the hallway. I couldn’t see him that well but I could sense he wasn’t pleased.

“You know they must remain clean before the hunt.”

The grip on my shoulders loosened and I can see the purple lights slowly going back to the man in front of me. I am able to take a few steps back from the cell bars, but wish I was able to have more distance then this.

“I was just teaching her” then looked at me with a wolfish grin “Where her place is” as he acted like he did no wrong.

The man down the hallway “Help prepare the meal.”

The two men in the back “Yes Sir” as they both left down the hallway.

That wolfish man still grinning at me “Until next time” and leaves.

I let out a sigh of relief as I rub my chest, that bar really hurt. I turn and look at all the women who were mostly huddled together at the far corner. It was obvious they were trying not to look at me. Then I look over and see the one who spoke up for me looking at me as she pats the ground next to her. I think why not. I walk over to her and sit down leaning my head back against the wall.
