84: HE FINALLY CRIED

“What the hell happened here?!” Troy blurted, covering him mouth to stop himself from vomiting.

At the town square, a mountain of corpse was burned in fire. And the ground was painted with blood.

“We’re still too late.” Samantha muttered, following Terry to check on the dead bodies.

“What happened here?” Terry asked Gavin. Who’s the only one in the area. Even the people locked themselves inside their homes, scared that something scarier might happen.

Yet, Gavin was seemed out of himself. He looked dazed, as if he wasn’t himself.

Terry even needed to tap his shoulder and he jumped in surprise.

“What happened here? We heard a commotion happened.”

Gavin’s eyes welled with tears, reddening at its edged but he refuses to cry. Her lips trembled as he tried to speak. “I-It’s my fault. Kaliyah… they burned her at the stake-”

“They what?!” Terry’s eyes widened in horror, looking at the corpses stacked together. “She’s not dead, is she?”
