Untimely Encounter

As Mikhail exited the room, he noticed the guide eyeing him weirdly. He tilted his head inquisitively at the guide but said guide refrained from speaking. Hence, Mikhail blinked awkwardly at them before trailing after the guide who was headed to the stables.

The clamourous sound of people caught Mikhail's attention as he stole a glance at the main street to find out what the fuss was all about. An extravagant carriage donning a familiar emblem caught Mikhail by surprise.

He didn't expect anything more when he got a little closer with the crowd to study the emblem when the carriage suddenly drew to a stop.

Mikhail grew wide eyed when the door slammed open and a woman clad in the finest of garments glanced in his direction. She tapped her fingers impatiently on the carriage door with irk as she inspected Mikhail from head to toe by the sway of her large hat.

"You. Why are you still here?" the woman asked.

Mikhail merely stared at her, flabbergasted a
