Lucianus

It was time to take her blood again. I was meant to pick her up. I had never imagined meeting the man she was living with. His hostility filled the air between us, along with the scent of his blood. I looked him over with a curious eye. He looked like he’d gotten into an accident, but there was the lingering scent of metal on him, like a knife and wood.

More than that, his eyes narrowed at me with such suspicion, and his presence gave me pause. This human was much more than he seemed.

“Please come in,” Trinity said, checking her phone. “I guess I lost track of time… I thought it was tomorrow?”

“Later today,” I said. “I am simply early.”

She smiled with relief and nodded, stepping aside to welcome me into the house. I stepped into the house, eyeing Mark, who stumbled back and away from me, still grasping his gun.
