Trinity

When he left, I stared dazed for a few minutes. Didn’t he want me? Had I upset him by pushing him so far? Would he ever come back?

I tried to clean myself up, but I barely managed to slip into a robe before my dad came home. He was grinning as he entered. Then, he stopped as he entered the kitchen.

“Everything okay, Trin’?” He asked, looking at me.

I didn’t really know what to say. I wanted to lie, but I couldn’t find the words to. Instead, I shrugged.

“I’m fine.”

My stomach kept churning, and I kept my phone in hand as I tried to think of something to say to Lucian.

“Your hot date not go so well?” He asked.

My shoulders slumped. “I messed up.”

He chuckled. “That’s bound to happen in a new relationship. Don’t worry yourself so much.”

If he knew the truth, I bet he wouldn’t be saying that. Worse than pushing Lucian to bite me, pushing him to leave me, was the reality of it.
