Chapter 4: Cause and Effect

I WOKE up when I felt something hard inside me. That was when I realized that Zackary’s shaft was still buried deep inside me. I could feel his warmth flowing into me. He was embracing me from behind and by the sound of his breathing, he seemed to have fallen asleep as well.

He didn’t pull out as if even in his sleep, he didn’t want to let me go. Surprisingly, my body didn’t feel sore at all.

When I glanced at my wristwatch, it was already ten in the morning. And yet, the entire Castle seemed to be quiet. Was it still because of the lingering effect of what Zachary did to them last night?

After a while, I shook my head. My life was already so messy. I had no time to think about other things. All I know was that I have to escape now.

Alucard had found me which just meant that I couldn’t stay in this Castle anymore.

When I tried to move, Zachary stirred and squeezed my nipple. I bit my lower lip to suppress my moan especially when I felt his thing getting harder inside me. But I could swear he was still sleeping. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have stayed in bed with me.

I’d heard enough tales about him. He was not one to cuddle women. Instead, he would leave them right after he gets his fill.

Every movement was a struggle since I couldn’t help but feel aroused and tempted. When I finally succeeded getting out of the bed, he groaned. But only for a while. He went back to sleeping with that satisfied look in his gorgeous face.

My cheeks flushed when I noticed that proud thing between his powerful legs. He was still fully-erect. It was making me remember the countless things it did to me last night.

Zachary’s lower half was just as devious as him. It didn’t let me rest. We did it until the sun came up. And I doubt if he even noticed it since he was too busy. I think I only slept for about an hour. My hands trembled when I covered his body with the sheets before I borrowed his cloak and stepped outside.

Last night was amazing. But it was time I face reality.

“Goodbye, Zachary,” I whispered when I found my flash drive. “Let’s never meet again. Because if we do, we’ll be enemies by then.”

The Knights were still sleeping on the ground when I passed by them. I quickly ran to my room, changed my clothes, and packed my things out of fear that Alucard might show up again.

When I reached the gate, I glanced at the Castle one last time before I took a deep breath and turned my back.

There was already a car waiting for me near the gate. I hopped in and never looked back.

From North America, I went to my grandmother’s hometown in Philippines where the Hunters were currently residing. My mission was only to hand over the documents to my twin brother, Terrence Dela Torre, the son of the Hunter King whom Zachary had been searching for.

However, since I forged the documents, His Majesty’s Knights will have to search on the other side of the world. The Hunters were safe from his fangs and claws, at least for now.

I was surprised when I saw the Hunters outside the mansion as if they had been waiting for my arrival. But Terrence was nowhere to be seen. I tried to fight the agitation that I felt.

When I went out of the car, all the Hunters bowed to me.

“Welcome back, our Queen,” they said in unison.

I gasped. “Queen? What are you saying? Where is Terrence?”

Elliot, my late father’s assistant, rushed to me and said, “Pardon me, my Queen. Your brother has disappeared. And as the only remaining Dela Torre, you would have to be the one to lead the Hunters from now on.”

And as if that wasn’t enough revelation, I started feeling sick. Two weeks later, I found out the cause.

I was pregnant.

With the Vampire King’s child.
