When I was running my fore finger on the crystal ball, hoping that I could find any clues on how to find the doctor, besides I finally knew that the doctor was held captive not in a basement because the windows behind him were painted to prevent the sunlight from breaking in, I found another note written by the doctor. It said,
“Help me!”
He knew exactly that his vampire queen, the ruler of the Imperial Colony would find him. Well, gorgeous, we’d come to rescue you. But before that, I’d need to know some more clues found near your surroundings.
I ran my fore finger to the right side of the crystal ball to see if I could find some other marks or brand or even a complete address that could lead us to find him. There weren’t enough clues to look for so I started to look at the interior of the building. The columns were all painted in white and the light seemed just sufficient.
I saw some shelves of experimental tools used mainly for a lab. I was guessing that the building was a medical office where they usually performed some kind of tests on the clinical specimen because I saw mostly there were some tubes to store the specimens. But they were all scattered that they seemed to be abandoned. I didn’t think that the doctor did all that. It must be the previous owner’s works.
As I ran my fore finger on the crystal ball to the direction where there came the moonlight, it could be seen that some of the places were abandoned or even half finished. Not all parts of the interior in the building were painted. Some parts were left as it was. The walls weren’t painted or covered with
Now I finally got the picture, it looked like it was a warehouse. This way I could downsize the search for certain buildings that only appeared to be warehouses. But the question still remained which direction of the Imperial Colony this warehouse might be.
I’d better summoned John because he used to patrol to abandoned places and buildings,
[John?]
I waited for a few seconds and then,
[Yes, my lady?]
[Where are you now?]
[We’re sweeping the sides of Times River. We’re checking the nearest abandoned medical buildings from the mansion. Mr. Tanaka said that the doctor possibly to be held captive in a lab or in a fixation room, right, my lady? We’re searching at the moment so that we can narrow them down when we have the lead from you or Viktor.]
[Have Viktor called, John?]
[Not yet, my lady… But thanks for reminding me. I haven’t checked my phone since we departed from the mansion. I prefer to be summoned by you like this directly, so we could do the work without stopping and being slowed down by the gadgets. But absolutely, my lady…as soon as we arrive at the next post, I’ll check if there was any message from Viktor…]
It was obvious that John didn’t like using the technology that he preferred to be a complete vampire and being summoned by me. I had to find a way for us to be able to communicate effectively. This had happened over and over. I was hoping to find the doctor right away. I believed his genius mind would be able to help us finding the solution to our problems.
[Do you remember all the abandoned warehouses while you were patrolling, John?]
[I remember all, my lady…]
It was the perk of being a vampire that you have an excellent memory because your mind was alive forever. But John reminded me something that I forgot,
[The problem is… which warehouses, my lady? In the north, south, east, or west side parts of the city?]
I had to give him clues he could use,
[What about warehouses with more than two stories high? Because the crystal ball shows that the windows of the warehouses are painted to prevent the sunlight from breaking in. This means that the building should be more than two stories high, am I right, John?]
[Absolutely, my lady… If that is the case, then I could narrow them down to the warehouses in the old complexes located in the north, south, and west parts. There wasn’t any abandoned warehouse on the east part because there is Time River that all the warehouses there have owners. I think the others and I will sweep the area to the south, then to the west and north. Is there any news from Viktor, my lady?]
[Nope, you’d better check your phone. Also… how many back up do you bring with three of you, John?]
[So far… twenty. My lady, Viktor said that he sent some more from the Force to help us when we’re about to move to the South, I heard just a while ago, one of his men received the news from Viktor.]
[Did the man tell you Viktor has a lead, John?]
[Not yet… My lady.]
Then I had to find some more clues from the crystal ball.
[Ok, keep on sweeping and keep me updated. I’ll see if the crystal ball has some more clues]
[Aye! Aye! Ma’am!]
I ended our minds meeting. Now it was time to try on one more direction that I hadn’t try when I ran my fore finger on the smooth surface of the crystal ball. It was to the opposite direction of where the moon light came.
“C’mon, doctor. Give me some more clues. O dearest crystal ball, where should I look?” I mumbled while touching the upper part of the crystal ball to make it misty and then I ran my fore finger to the opposite direction of where the moon light came. The mist slowly broke and there was a fuzzy image on a bag of first aid kit. I used both of my fore finger and my thumb to see if I could zoom in the image.
There as it could be seen that the image was rewritten to be clear by the doctor, because it was shown after that, that the doctor himself was trying to make the logo clear.
“Thank you, gorgeous!” If only the doctor were my child, I could summon him and told him in person I was glad he did that.
It was a logo of infinity with short lines connecting both of the longer lines like a string of DNA. It was finally clear and I believed I could find the location of the warehouse. All I needed to do now was asking Viktor to find the data of a warehouse with the infinity logo so I summoned him right away,
[Viktor? Find the location of a more than two stories warehouse with a string of DNA logo, or an infinity logo.]
He was really in stand by position thus he answered me right away,
[On it my lady!]
After about five Mississippis,
[It’s on the North part, my lady. And there was only one warehouses complex. I’ll bring some more men from the Force…]
Viktor hadn’t finished his sentence and I cut him,
[Make sure they all are vampires, Viktor. Let the humans stay in the station and make sure the steel shields are locked. We need to make sure that this isn’t a bait to lure all the vampire cops leaving the station and letting the humans in the station left vulnerable. I want all vampire cops work on this ambush. I’ll let John and the others know to move to the north. I’ll see you there.]
[Certainly, my lady.]
Then I summoned John.
[John, to the north…]
I hadn’t finished my sentence, suddenly John answered,
[I know one complex of warehouse on the north, my lady. Is the interior finished to be done or not, my lady? I believe you could see that from the crystal ball…]
As expected from my smart son, John was as meticulous as grandpa. Too bad we’re still vampires. If only we were werewolves. None of this would be this hard.
[I saw that some parts of the interior hasn’t finished. Only the part where the doctor works that has sufficient lighting.]
[I know that one particular warehouse on the outer part of the complex near the gate. It has only two stories. It hasn’t finished because it was the farthest building from the source of the construction site. Plus since it’s located on the outer part of the complex, it had been used as shelter before I came to that place and asked anyone to move because it was hard to patrol there and there were more risks for them to be turned into rogue vampires. I had evacuated them to the nearest hospital and our mansion to be willing blood bags…]
I was so satisfied with his explanation and initiative. He really was my child that I felt I wasn’t wasting time torturing myself drinking only good blood to be able to be wise and smart like John was today.
[Good then, I’ll tell Viktor, and I’ll see you there. Make sure the doctor isn’t turned to be rogue vampires yet, John.]
[Oh I doubt that, my lady. I believe rogue vampires don’t wanna take risks by turning the doctor and making him as stupid as they are. It would be futile for them to kidnap the doctor and making him one of them. Though they’re smarter because of the DNA engineered lambs that they ate, it wasn’t smart enough for them to find the solution to the risks.]
Amazing how John could be as smart as that.
[Awesome! See you soon, John]
[On my way, my lady]
[Where are you Viktor?]
A fast response,
[On my horse, my lady, I’m with all the vampire cops from the station. Around 50 of them]
[More than enough, possibly there are only 10 of the rogue vampires. The doctor is in the outer warehouse near the gate that has only two stories. I believe he’s on the second floor because the rogue vampires usually have a place to guard. They might be on the first floor.]
[That’s true my lady. That is what they usually do. See you there, my lady.]
[On my way, Viktor]
With that, I jumped from roof to roof that it took me only few minutes to get there. If only I was a thousand year old, I’d be flying and everything would be easier.

[ ] these punctuation used to give a sign that the sentences were said as a means of communication between vampires. These vampires had these abilities because they were from one root of a Maker, Vivienne, who used to be a werewolf that could communicate in a pack and was the descendant of the Empath humans, the mind readers. Since she was downgraded to a vampire because of the Tribrid’s curse, her ability was also lessened to be able to communicate only one on one to her child only one at a time. I use the punctuation because GoodNovel app for mobile doesn’t show the post to be in italic. It only applies if you open the story using PC. Happy reading
By the time I got there, the four horsemen already told their men to pull the rogue vampires from four different directions. I saw them scattered each four of them took one rogue vampire. There were four clusters so I asked Zachary how many they were. [Zach, how many are they?] I jumped to another side of the roof, looked like the building didn’t have a rooftop which was good. There was only a roof. We only needed to handle two floors without risking the rogue vampires might move the doctor using the outlet on the rooftop. It was our beginner’s luck that the building didn’t have a rooftop. We needed to think about some more tactics if this kind of ambush happened again. [Five outside, my lady. One down, Victor and I are taking care four more. John and Ezekiel are getting inside with few men. We don’t really know how many inside, but we’re guessing they’re no more than five or six left inside. The building is quite small with only two stories. And I believe the rogue vampires can’t
We were saving the doctor when we finally met him, Ezi was doing something out of his mind. We could say that he was a bit crazy, I was pretty sure he didn’t inherit that from me. Ezi shoved the edge of his machete to the doctor’s neck while threatening, “Do you dare to propose for marriage to our queen? Are you out of your mind?” Ezi gritted his teeth and rudely showed his vampire fangs. John, the doctor, and I suddenly was in awe looking in Ezi’s direction with our slightly opened mouth. Suddenly, Ezi laughed so hard. Then John and I realized that Ezi was joking so we finally chuckled and laughed as well, while the doctor was still on his knees and in awe. I realized that I needed to explain to him what had just happened. “Forgive Ezi, my second horseman, Dr. Howard. He was sometimes out of his mind, but he’s a great tracker to find rogue vampires. Are you okay, doc?” I shoved my hand for him to reach so he could stand on his feet instead of kneeling like that. And to my
We'd finally rescued the doctor from the rogue vampires. To our surprise, the doctor had the same thought that he was going to help us to create the formula for the synthetic blood so all the vampires in the Imperial Colony didn’t have to drink human or animal blood anymore. That was the thing very important to achieve to create a peaceful world decent for humanity. That in the end, my vampire children and I could get some rest from hunting rogue vampires or even sleeping eternally in our coffins, to be wakened up later when there was some kind of disturbance in the peace of humanity. Not for wishing something bad, but I was cursed and built my empire of children only to protect the human. This was my legacy and I intended to keep it that way. So when we finally found a way with the help of the doctor, though we hadn't found the actual result, we were pretty sure we were closer to our final goal. I was glad I finally had this thought when we went outside and gathered with Zach and
I asked the doctor whether I should call him ‘doc' or ‘professor’ while he was mending the wound on my head due to his instinct to hit me with a bar stool thinking I was going to hurt him. Though it was unnecessary because my wound would heal in an hour or two. I didn’t take the human blood since I woke up tonight, usually, the human blood would be served around 3 AM or after I went back from hunting and killing rogue vampires. It was supposed to be the blood of the Hungarian pianist tonight. I didn’t ask for his presence, but he came to this Imperial Colony city to offer his blood to the queen. He said that he didn’t have family left, so giving up himself to immortality was his only option. At such young age, he grew tired of traveling around the world playing piano on big stages. Popularity didn’t fulfill his soul anymore so he sought a greater purpose. When he heard that there was a city ruled by a vampire queen to protect humanity, he felt like he needed the urge to participate.
We were going back to the mansion after we rescued the doctor. To our surprise, the doctor asked to ride one of the vampire horses because he liked to ride a horse. Since we weren’t going to hunt for some more rogue vampires, Zach lent his vampire horse, the White Beauty. It had its best figure when it changed into a vampire. Its dull white hair became indescribably beautiful because of the effects when a creature became a vampire. It must have been a struggle for a human to ride a vampire horse. But seeing his tall figure and looked like his strong legs, I wouldn’t be worried. That tall doctor easily got onto the vampire horse's back, and the horse was hissing and neighing because it recognized the rider as a human and it smelled the doctor's blood. The White Beauty was walking in a circle because it smelled the doctor's blood. But I could see that the doctor was an adept horseback rider, he kept on directing the horse to walk in a circle to distract it from the smell of his bl
The doctor told Mr. Tanaka and me how people usually took him for granted, making us exchange a very meaningful look. We meant that finally, the doctor was in the right place where his brain and hard work would be acknowledged and useful for the greater good, to keep the peace between humans and vampires to live to co-exist. The air suddenly became so sad. I might be a vampire who didn’t feel a thing but the Empath cells in my body sometimes gave me hints of how my surrounding felt. Thus I tried to crack the silence. “Well then, Mr. Tanaka. I'm famished. Could you please also prepare the doctor's dinner and show him the way to his room?” “Certainly, milady. Yours is prepared, and I've asked the kitchen staff to prepare something for the doctor.” Mr. Tanaka looked at the doctor and continued his explanation, “Pardon me, doctor. If later the taste of the food doesn’t suit your taste buds. We’re sorry that since there was no one in the Royal Family eating food anymore except for ano
The doctor stopped to walk when he saw me before he got down the grand stairs to the dining room. I didn’t know why he shoved his right hand for me to take. He had the oldest chivalry and even though I wasn’t his woman, he tried to act gentle. A true gentleman he was. So I guessed I had nothing to worry about, thus I reached for his hand and let mine hold his. There was a strange thing that happened when I put my hand in his holding. A tingling sensation came from his hand running through my hand, my arms, my shoulders to my back, to my spine, and down to my core. It felt warm. It was like an electric current. For as long as I remembered, this had never happened when I touched humans. I was supposed to be the one who gave the human this feeling. Not the other way around. Vampires manipulated and hypnotized their targets of blood bags. It had never happened the other way around. Or when a vampire said that he or she fell in love with his or her blood bag, was just because of the d
It was a peculiar thing what the doctor had said. He asked me if I had the will to get sex. What I meant was how in the hell he could get that sassy. Wasn’t having two different personalities including being a timid scientist, and an overconfident lad with a hint of adrenaline junkie already too much? Now there was another personality of his that was sexually rude. “Huh? What did you say just now, doctor? How could you ask your vampire queen such a question? Do you have a death wish or something? “ He frowned upon hearing my questions and I believed he could hear the angry tone in my voice because now he widened his perfect almond-shaped eyes. “What’s the matter, your highness? Did I say something that offended you?” He acted dumb. And I abruptly stood from my chair than in a blink of an eye, my left hand was choking his neck and my fangs were shown were about to rip his throat out. It wasn’t necessary and I never intended to kill him but shock therapy should be shown remembering
