The silence went on forever before the same Dorrick male spoke up, “you are acting so protective of the human, don't you think?”

“Is that a concern of yours?” The vampire asked in a cool, collected voice.

“That's against—”

“Do you wish to have a taste of her? You can do that if you so badly want to have her.”

“Don't touch me!” I screamed as I got near the vampire's chair. I felt like merging myself with the chair to avoid having the man touch me.
