I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I would love to read your comments.
The next morning, I made a big breakfast for Sebastian, before he even woke up. It wasn’t until the coffee could be smelled from upstairs that he walked downstairs. He must have already taken a shower, because he was dressed in black jeans with a pale blue button up shirt. I smiled, “Good morning? Are you ready to kick a dark warlock king’s ass today? I know I am. I want to know, for a fact, that he is gone.” Sebastian put his arms around me, “Of course, my love. I would do anything to make you feel safe.” I smiled, “You are too sweet. Now, let’s eat breakfast.” We sat at the table and started eating as Sebastian took a bite of a biscuit. As he held it up, he moaned, “These are so fluffy! Did you make these fresh?” I shrugged, “I borrowed the ingredients from mom last night. I’m glad you like them.” Apparently, he liked everything else I made too, because he hummed and kept saying, “So good,” all the way through it. I was laughing and shaking my head at him. When I started clearing the
We walked up to the main castle entrance, then to the sitting room where my Grandma Zara was sitting. I hugged her and introduced Sebastian, “Queen Zara, this is Prince Sebastian of the Southern Werecat Kingdom.” My grandma hugged him, “Oh, it’s so good to meet my granddaughter’s real mate! I have already been told so much about you. Thank you for fighting for my granddaughter before you even knew her.” I laughed, “Grandma, really?” Sebastian took my hand and squeezed for reassurance, “I was not about to risk losing my mate before I got to know her. I also wouldn’t have known what a capable fighter she is.” I smiled, “Anyway, I would like for him to meet grandpa also. Do you know where he is?” She smiled, “He’s on his way here. Please, have a seat. Let’s visit.” I laughed, “We can visit for a bit, but we still have a lot of grocery shopping to do and I would like to show him our wing of the castle.” She smiled, “You are certainly welcome to do that.” Grandpa walked in and Sebastian ro
Sebastian and I ran into the castle from a side door, to keep from being seen by my grandparents or Odessa. As we walked forward, slowly, we were listening to the conversation: King Parker: “You are not getting her location out of us.” Odessa: “You will tell me or I will kill your mate first, then I will kill you.” King Parker: “We will not tell you where she is.” Odessa: “This is the last place she was. She must still be here.” I whispered, “Queen Aja. Odessa is here. I need your help.” Queen Aja appeared in front of us and I held one finger to my lips to show her to be quiet and pointed in the direction of their voices. King Parker: “I swear to you that she already left.” Odessa: “I guess we will find out. I will have my men search the castle for her and they will kill anyone in their way.” Queen Aja stepped forward into Odessa’s line of sight, “Odessa! Leave them alone. The princess has already left. She and her mate had shit to do. You are all mine now.” She snapped her fin
Sebastian smiled as he took a deep breath, “So you want to know everything about me?” I nodded as I attempted to suck in a long string of pasta, making him laugh out loud. He smiled, “Where would you like me to start?” I swallowed the bite I was eating and suggested, “Well, you know I have a huge, close knit, family, so how about you start there?” He nodded, “That’s a good place to start. I am the ninth of twelve kids. I have five brothers and six sisters. Before you ask, we are all multiples. I am also one of a set of quadruplets. That’s why I wasn’t really too surprised to see you as the same. The difference is I am the only male and my sisters are dying to meet you. We are just as close as you and your siblings are, with a few exceptions. The first set of triplets are asshats because they are the immediate heirs. They have the biggest chip on their shoulders you have ever seen. If I had a choice, you would never meet them. They are the main reason I moved out of the kingdom.” I shru
I hugged Sebastian tightly and he started walking toward our bedroom. As we walked, I asked, “What do you think about turning me?” I could feel him smiling against my neck, “I would love to on one condition.” I asked, “What would that be?” He replied, “I want you to turn me also.” I cringed, “You do know that I have a wolf and a bear, right?” He shrugged, “I do know that. Is that a problem?” I laughed, “Not for me, but it can be a real headache if you’re not used to having more than one animal spirit living inside you. You have to reinforce that wall with steel supports. My bear and wolf get along great. Sometimes too great. They throw a party and want me to join.” Sebastian laughed, “That sounds like fun.” I laughed, “It is when I have time for it or when I’m not trying to go to sleep. Lately, their tune has changed though.” Sebastian looked concerned, “Why? Is something wrong?” I sighed, “Not really. They are just more obsessed with you and your tiger. I’m agreeing with them too.” He
By the time we got to the kingdom’s private air strip, I was ready to punch my brothers out and they knew it. I never knew so many embarrassing childhood memories could be shared in an hour! They had the quad link blocked and they weren’t listening to mom’s links. I finally had to call in the big guns and mind link Grandpa Parker. I knew the minute grandpa gave the order, because the subject of the stories suddenly switched to Emily and Lizzy. Poor girls weren’t even in the vehicle to defend themselves. I made sure to make a note of this and tell them about it when we get to the air strip. Sebastian mind linked, “So, who did you have to mind link to get them to change the subject?” I laughed, “My Grandpa Parker. I’m sure he laid the king’s order down on them and they had no choice.” Sebastian laughed out loud and Micah asked, “How were you two mind linking?” Zach yelled, “Whoa! Did you mark each other last night?” Alex started sniffing the air behind me and I almost head butted him in
Well, when he put it that way, there was no way I could take it for granted. I mind linked him, “Thanks for making me remember to not take my time with my mom for granted.” He linked back, “I love you so much. I just don’t want you to have any regrets. All of our time is limited.” I sighed, “Don’t I know it. Hopefully we will get some time alone later.” He laughed, “When we do get some time alone, I would love to hear how the dragon kingdom royalty became like family to you.” I laughed, “You might want to ask Grandpa Damien. It started with him and Grandma Abby.” He replied, “I will do that. Let me know how it’s going later. I gotta go. Love you.” I smiled, “Love you too.” I closed the mind link and my mom laughed, “Are you back with us now?” I laughed, “Yeah. I was definitely blessed to receive him as my mate.” Mom nodded, “I agree completely. Wait.” She looked at my neck for the first time and continued, “You marked each other last night?” I smiled, “We did. We also agreed that we wo
He whined, “Aw, c’mon, love. Can’t I just get a peek? It’s the first time I will get to see you in formal wear.” I laughed, “You are not going to ruin the surprise. I’m serious.” He shrugged, “Okay, since you put it that way, I won’t peek. I like that it’s a surprise for me. That doesn’t mean it won’t be torture.” I turned to mom, “Mom, would you mind putting my dresses and shoes in your closet? I don’t know if my mate can resist the temptation of looking.” I looked at Sebastian and he had the saddest face as he looked at me, “I’m sorry. I promise I won’t look.” I laughed, “Not a chance.” Alex chuckled, “Dude, you should’ve never acted interested in it. She wouldn’t have even suspected if you took a peek then. Now, you’ve screwed yourself.” I smacked my brother upside his head, “Really, dude,” emphasizing that last word to show my brother what a bonehead he is, “How would you know how to deal with a mate? You don’t have one.” Alex put his hand over his heart, “You’re breaking my heart,
