I knew who sent the invitation letter, so I took the letter and kept the box aside. I went outside immediately and took an Uber to the hotel where the banquet would take place.

We arrived at the hotel and I paid the Uber driver his money immediately. I went straight into the hotel lobby and saw a lot of people who were hanging around in groups of twos and more, talking to one another.

Several of them were discussing who the mysterious new elder was, as expected. They were not informed of the identity of the new elder, so all they could do was wonder who may be the person.

I felt a gaze on me as I turned around to see a guy who fixed his gaze on me and kept a curious look on his face. He furrowed his brows and mumbled something like he was trying to recognize my face. "Your face is so unfamiliar." He muttered as he kept staring at me.
