On getting to their room, Cole saw Myra sitting by the window but she locked it and left the curtain in place, making it give the illusion that nobody was there. Although Cole felt her in the room while he was outside, he didn’t know that she was just behind the curtain. “I don’t understand you Cole. I certainly wish I did.” Myra started softly and Cole sighed. Of course she would hear the conversation he had with Brett. Still he asked. “You heard?” “I did and I still don’t understand how you would just agree to Brett once about the same thing which I have been telling you about for days now. Things which you were too stubborn to even listen well to what I was trying to say!” Myra stated.Cole winced. “Maybe I needed someone else opinion?” “Maybe, or maybe I am not the one who doesn’t value this mate bond between us.” Myra stated and Cole sucked in a deep breathe. “Myra…” Myra shook her head sadly. “My race, the people who I always thought I woul;d spend my life with banished me
Myra didn’t know what to expect when she told Dee and Dumb that they should lead her to Taylor but seeing him in Cole’s throne room and perched on her throne was enough to make green reflect on her eyes for just a little bit. “Your Highness.” Taylor replied, jumping up from his seat but even that was not enough to make Myra calm. Without a word, she moved passed those who are gathered to take her seat and most of them had the decency to bow their heads since they knew that Taylor was not doing well and still they said and did nothing in protest. She ignored Taylor until she sat at her chair. “By all means, don’t let me stop you from whatever it is that you were doing. Please in fact do continue.” Myra stated and Taylor swallowed noisily. “Nothing was being discussed, nothing of importance.” He shivered and Myra frowned. He was being respectful. More than usual. And that was when she realized that her dominance was still being displayed. She hid it once more as she looked at Taylo
Cole thought all hope was lost. He really didn’t know what happened. One minute, he was introducing himself as the shifter king to this pack’s alpha, the next he knows, he was being attacked. This was the last settlement which he was supposed to visit and he still didn’t understand what happened and caused such a reaction in the shifter and his people. Fellow wolves like him. Who were fighting to the death and were refusing to stop, no matter how much he tried to tell them that he meant no harm. More wolves kept pouring out of the buildings, wolves which were not supposed to even be here. The population was way more than what was reported on paper. Cole knew that he would be able to decipher what was going on when he could think well but as for the moment, he needed to stay alive and that meant focusing on incapacitating those rushing towards him. That stopped working when they would heal themselves just so they could advance and then try to throw theirselves at him again. Then h
With each minute that Cole kept trying to wake Myra and she was not waking up was making Cole even more feral. By the end of ten minutes, he was already making growling sounds as she moved around Myra, he made sure the room was well ventilated, spoke to her softly to see if she would wake up to the sound of his voice but she didn’t. She remained still and pale like she was close to death doors. Brett entered the room, after knocking once. “Alpha.”“Where are they?” Cole growled. “On their way Alpha. Changes.” Brett replied. “None.” Cole growled then in a burst of anger hit the besides stool, shattering it. “You need to calm down Cole. That will not make her better, she would just sense your distress instead and that would make her more distressed.” Brett cautioned and Cole nodded even as he sat back down by Myra’s side on his bed and then he held her hand. A knock sounded on the door and then the door opened. Taylor was at the other side of the door with Vince and Carson. “Alpha…
“Just tell me that she will be alright now.” Cole stated and Marionette gave a jerky nod of her head. “She will be okay for now since this is the first time that something like this is happening but after this, I don’t know if she would still be okay if it happens again.” She responded. “Then it won’t.” Cole vowed. “I will protect her from it with everything that is in me.” “But sometimes even everything would not be enough to protect her with.” Marionette responded. “Why don’t you wake her up so that we can have a conversation about why she is the way she is.” Vince said in his usual cool voice but nobody could mistake the steel behind his words and the barely veiled anger. Marionette flinched at Vince words but still moved forward to Myra and then she drew Myra’s top to expose one collar bone and when it was exposed, her tattoo of entangled infinity symbols was displayed.“Her tattoo?” Cole asked. “It is not a tattoo, she must have told you that, it is a birthmark.” Myra stated
Second day after Myra woke up, Cole was still with her in their room, he refused to face the world just yet, still wanting to be around his mate who was still very angry with her mother. After the angry fit she threw that day, Cole kicked everybody out of the room and had being alone with her since. And now, Brett just contacted him that the internal council of shifters were at his home, demanding an audience with him. Something which he expected would happen since what went down and even though he was expecting it, he still wasn’t happy that it happened. “What’s wrong?’ Myra asked him when he sighed out loud in frustration.“My council is around and they are demanding to know what happened?” Cole responded. “First thing first, you have a council?” Myra asked shocked and Cole looked at her weirdly. “Of course I do, which ruler don’t have a council?” Cole returned. “Especially when he is ruling different race.” “True. But you never mentioned anything about them before so I cannot
When a few seconds passed and Cole didn’t make any move to answer their question, they grew suspicious again about what was really happening, it seemed that their leader had a lot which he was not telling them. “Need I remind you that you are under an oath that you would always tell the truth and give us appropriate time to prepare for whatever is coming?” “You even said an oath and you are still treated this way. That is not fir in the slightest way.” Myra exclaimed and Cole rolled his eyes at his mate. “Would it be enough if I tell you that as long as nobody means me any harm, what happened to the wolves would not happen to them?” Cole asked and the shifters all agreed to disagree with Cole. Some were even vocal about their disagreement. “It is okay Cole, tell them.” Myra stated. Cole shook his head, weary. “What happened was Myra? I was injured and she was upset. She took control of their will and told them to kill themselves before she teleported us away from there. We didn’
Cole woke up the next morning to shouts and snarls outside his bedroom door. He was pissed when he heard voices, especially when Myra gave a whimper as her brows wrinkled. Cole wrapped his arm around his mate and she immediately settled, until the next big bang of something outside his door. He was angry and without too much thought, he contacted Brett. ‘That had better be you out there or some shifters would lose their heads.’ ‘It is me, and if you are awake, you can come out here to help me with telling these knuckleheads that you will answer their question in due time and that them trying to break into your room where your naked mate sleeps in not the right way to get you to answer their questions any faster, they would just be signing their death warrants.’Cole brows flew into his hairlines in shock. ‘That is what the noise is about. Them trying to enter my room and you stopping them?’ ‘Give the man a medal for figuring it out.’ Brett huffs. Cole was seriously tempted to tel
