Chapter 58

In just a hundred steps I had arrived at the outskirts of the forest directly adjacent to the highway. The sky was getting dark but there was no light on this lonely street. I stood shivering from the cold, if I sat down I was afraid that Alex would just pass me by.

What forest is this actually? I thought while looking tiredly around me. What is clear is that this is not the same forest as before.

About five minutes later I heard the screeching sound of a car coming this way. Hopefully my eyes fixed on the crossroads at the end, and sure enough Alex's black car appeared a few seconds later with a high speed that for a moment made me think he would not see me because of his fast speed.

The car stopped suddenly about ten meters from where I was standing, the sound of tires screeching loudly. Alex stepped out of the driver's door, his eyes already golden and almost blazing in the darkness. His tired and panicked expression was etched on his face.
