Conspiracy

Daisy washes up and prepares her dinner, yes, she has her kitchen in her room. Seth doesn’t trust the members of his pack with his wife’s well-being and so gave their room a different design. While the rest ate together downstairs, Daisy made hers and ate in her room.

When she finished, she looked at her baby sleeping soundly in his beautifully decorated crib by a cavity in the room.“I’d make sure to give you the best of everything” Daisy said as she leaned in and kissed his forehead.

“Look who’s now a mother” Seth announced the moment he connected on face time with Daisy.

Daisy was excited but she was a bit annoyed because she wanted to break it to him herself. It just had to be that Williams.

Seth noticed the look on her face and tried to pacify her, he knew his wife to be very sentimental.

“Babe, there’s no way I won’t be informed about anything happening back there, especially something as important as this.”

Daisy knew this but still wanted to act out, she missed him badly and wanted to be in his arms tonight.

“it’s been a week, babe and I miss you already. I can’t wait till Thursday.” Daisy said, sulking that she looked sad but she was doing all of that for attention and Seth knew it.

“I’ll be back soon, honey. How’s the baby?” Seth asked.

Daisy walks to the crib and shows Seth how peacefully the baby was sleeping.

“He looks just like his dad” Seth teased.

“He’s just a baby, Seth. No one knows who he looks like but I bet a thousand bucks that he looks like me.” Daisy said.

Daisy and Seth’s bond is very strong; they’ve been through a lot together but their feelings for each other remained unshaken. Seth fought for her when the elders of his pack rejected her because she was not the one betrothed to him, he hated the ridiculous custom and found love elsewhere. There was no way he would marry a girl he didn’t love, just because his parents were lucky to fall in love with each other didn’t mean that his fate would be the same.

Seth is a very stubborn and strong-willed man, never letting go of what he wants. With this, he brings back home, his chosen mate from another pack and forces his parents to accept her and the unification ceremony was performed. Aware of the fallouts of his actions, he guards Daisy fiercely and entrusts her to Williams, a beta and his childhood friend when he’s absent.

“I’ll see you soon, babe. I gotta go.” Seth said.“Bye, for now, love” Daisy replied before hanging up.

“I’d have that conversation with him when he gets back,” Daisy said to herself. It was a long day, she lay on the bed, closed her eyes, and let the darkness take over.

In the morning the next day, Oliver, Seth’s cousin strode through the hallway to the kitchen to get a glass of water, he had been training since morning, alongside other betas but was stopped in his tracks when he heard muffled sounds by the corner.

He hid close to where the sound was coming from so he could see the other person. He could identify his aunt’s voice from the conversation, but couldn’t see the other person, she wasn’t facing him.

“You have to leave, Freya. There’s nothing left here for you.” Klara said.

“B-but I… I can’t just leave like that; my father would surely wage a war against your pack. He’d say you betrayed his trust and Seth would surely have you banished.” Freya said.

“I wonder what they have done.” Oliver thought to himself.

“I’ll deal with Seth. Just pack your things and leave, they have a child now. There’s nothing I can do for you.” Klara said.

With this, Oliver knew who the other figure was, it was Freya, the girl from the Gray-hound pack who was betrothed to Seth. She had loved him since they were little but Seth never really cared, although Freya is very beautiful.

His aunt, Klara was one of the major people that pushed against Seth and Daisy being together but she didn’t have much power over his choices. The blood moon pack and Gray-hound pack have been allies for several generations, and have had this betrothal custom going on. Seth put an end to it when he chose a mate from a different pack, consequences be damned.

“Let’s kill the baby then” Freya suggested.

Oliver’s dark gray eyes widened and he gasped in shock on hearing this, he used his hands to cover his mouth but it was too late, they already heard the sound and now, they know that someone is there. Without hesitation, Oliver sped off before they could check who it was. He didn’t stop until he got to his room.

His head spun erratically and he couldn’t believe what he heard but he wasn’t surprised by it, the only thing that he was curious about is how long Freya had been in the house.

After giving it much thought, he decided to tell Seth about the plot against his baby when he returns but in the meantime, he would tell Williams to tighten his security around Daisy and her baby. That wouldn’t be a problem, Daisy barely even leaves her room and Williams would lay down his life to protect her.

I’m sure I heard something over there, I hope no one was paying attention,” Klara said.

“I don’t think so. So what do you say about my proposal? Eliminate the threat and save ourselves.” Freya said, trying to convince Klara to yield to her devious plans.

“I’ll give it a thought. But this is dangerous, Freya. Williams never leaves her doorpost.” Klara said, showing her misgivings about Freya’s plan.

“We’d figure it out,” Freya said before she walked out and returned to her duties as a helper in the house.

Oliver wondered how no one knew that Freya was in the house but he didn’t blame himself much because he has never seen her. All the times that Seth went to the gray hound pack house, he went alone, even the day he went to announce to them that he has no interest in Freya and had chosen someone else from a different pack to be his mate.
