And checking on her background, Judas found out that she lives with a man named Lyndon. A notorious gambler whom Mavie seemed to consider her savior. But according to Judas’ investigation, what happened that day, Mavie’s father was beating her and was almost about to swing the baseball bat on her head, was all an act. Lyndon personally asked Mavie’s father to play that exact scene that took place because he wanted to make sure Mavie, his claim on their gambling bet, would never think about going back home and build trust and faith in him as a good person compared to her father.

It turned out that Mavie’s father had been a constant player at a table with Lyndon, and he would usually boast how the old man had a daughter for a cash cow at home. And Lyndon made fun of saying the daughter must have been too ugly to accept all her father’s wishes. But the father showed a picture of his daughter, and Lyndon realized she wasn’t strikingly beautiful, but she looked so innocent and enchanting.
