Chapter Forty-two (Saraya's POV) present Time…

"How can you tell when it's day or night here?" I leaned into Dane to ask as soon we had a few minutes to ourselves. Dane had come to get me when it was time for the children to take their naps and I figured that meant we were in the evening already. Probably around 4 p.m.

"We have wall clocks in the children's rooms and ours. That was your idea. The time here is the same as in the Northlands so it should be evening now. The only difference is that it is always dark here. Hence, why we have most of our packs living on this side of the North," he explained, ushering me up a flight of stairs to the deck right above the children's wing. A familiar feeling settled over me like deja vu. The scent and the feel of the air were almost like I have been here before. Like this was my sanctuary.

"Interesting. Which part do you like the most? Surely having a total blackout all day, and every day must be unnerving."

"I prefer anywhere where I get to be alone with you and the pups," he replied. I
