Chapter Sixty-eight (Saraya's POV) Decades Ago

“I made something for you to eat,” he whispered into my ear much later. Using his arm as a prop he rested his head over his hand, studying my face.

“Thank you,” I said. He smiled and lowered his head to kiss me on the lips. He then left the bed and reached out to help me up.

“I am sorry your clothes are ruined,” he said, not looking sorry at all. I giggled, reaching upward to cup his strong jaw.

“We both know you are not, Dane,” I said. He grinned boyishly, causing my heart to flip for him. He was beautiful. I couldn't get over how perfect he looked. My stomach rumbled, reminding me I never did have breakfast, no thanks to Dane and his … friend. Letting out a sigh I tore my eyes from him, lowering them to the bed covers and pulled the upper one out, wrapping it around my body, making a knot on one shoulder. When I was done, I swept out my hand to display my handiwork.

“I prefer you without it,” Dane grumbled. I couldn't help laughing. He looked utterly sullen.
