Chapter 24

Cole’s POV

I wake up with Stella in my arms. Her head is laying on my chest. It was a hard night and she was restless. I want to let her sleep a little longer. Her sweet beautiful face is still red from crying. My heart aches for her. I want to make her sadness go away. I hear the men stirring outside so I gently slide out from under her careful not to wake her.

I unzip the tent and head out. Everyone looks at me. “What happened last night?” Devin asks concerned. “Her brother paid us a visit. I will tell you later,” I say nodding.  I start packing up our things. She finally emerges.

Her eyes still puffy but beautiful. She walks over to me and leans her head on my chest. We stand there for a few moments as a wrap my arms around her. No one else exists right now but us. “We need to get going,” I say planting a kiss on her head.
