Lexi Leaving Luther was hard but I know I needed time to think. I needed to think about what I did to that girl. And why I reacted the way I did. Aiden When we pulled up at the Riverclaw pack house Luther, the Luna, Alpha and Lexi’s three guardians from here were waiting outside for us. Dad linked me just before we got here letting me know he had called ahead letting them know we were coming. Dad got out and helped mom while I helped Lexi. I barely had Lexi’s feet on the ground before Luther was running over snatching her up making Lexi wrap her legs around his waist. I stepped back and let them have their moment. Lexi Luther and I walk hand and hand out the back of the packhouse with Aiden just a step or two behind us. I keep looking over my shoulder to make sure he is still with us. “ So where are you taking us?” I asked Luther. “ First stop is the daycare.” Luther said. I stopped quickly. “ Luther, do you think I should pull back on the glow? I don’t want to scare anyone.” I asked. Luther placed his hand on my cheek. “ Baby, I’m not going to tell you what to do. I want you to be yourself. If you want to pull back that is up to you. But I don’t think you will scare anyone. Fascinate maybe. But not scare.” he said. Luther When I changed into Diesel I was a little worried how Lexi would react. We have met before but I don’t know if she remembers or if she does she might be upset with me. All of my doubts faded when she saw me and smiled. She did recognize me but she wasn’t upset. Aiden Razor was in control while I watched what was going on. Razor surrounded Lexi on one side while Diesel was on her other side. Razor looks at the wolves surrounding us. “ What are these things? They smell like regular wolves but something is off about them.” Razor asked. “ I don’t know. The first time Lexi was attacked Luther and Melissa said something about rabid red eyed wolves. These must be like them. They have to be after Lexi.” I said. “ Over my dead body will they get her.” Razor growled at the wolves. “ I’m with you.” I agreed. Lexi Even carried me to the nearest couch and laid me down. “ The doctor needs to have a look at you,” he said. I opened my eyes and smiled at him. “ I’m fine, Evan. I swear. Just some scratches. And I burned a little too much energy. The wolves that were brought in. We need to have someone check them over. And the injured, someone needs to check them. Diesel and Razor looked rough. Doctor, could you check on them?” I asked. “ I will check on them shortly. And the other injured went to the hospital and are being looked over as we speak. I need to look you over now.” the doctor said. I didn’t argue anymore. I was too tired to do so. I watch with heavy eyes as the doctor checks my arms, legs and hands. “ Miss Lexi, you are already healing. Once we get some food in you and some rest you will be feeling much better.” the doctor said. I sit up slowly. Damn that took all my effort. Luther I watched Lexi rest. I can take my eyes off of her. She is so beautiful. And I saw what she could do today and how she took charge. And the worry she had for the warriors and the wolves. “ She is going to be a great Luna.” Diesel said. “ I couldn’t agree more.” I said. While watching Lexi I notice her body starts to glow and pulse different colors and her eyes move rapidly under her lids. I have seen this happen a few times when she dreams. Luther My dad, Lexi, Aiden and the guardians head down to where my dad put the wild wolves. “ Evan, why did you want to keep them outside?” Lexi asked. “ Since they are wild it didn’t feel right to put them in a cell with silver bars.” Dad said. “ That makes sense.” Lexi said. Dad led us around the side of the packhouse towards the woods where there was a row of five large metal cages with two wolves in each. Each wolf was in horrible shape. They had patches of missing fur. They were so skinny I could see the outline of their ribs and back bone. Old wounds that looked infected. Even in the wild they should have healed better than what they are.Lexi gasped when she saw them. “ Oh, heavens. Evan, can we get them some food and medical care?
