Chapter 71

-Willow-

I glanced between Carter and Cain at breakfast. Neither had touched much of their food, but at least they hadn't started the day with a shot. They chose coffee this time, yet they drank it slowly and mostly stared at the contents in their mugs. I glanced at Henry, who shrugged, not sure how to be of help, but then he focused on Carter.

"Should I call my brother?" he suggested.

"I don't think I want more people involved," Carter groaned, leaning forward and rubbing his eyes.

"I don't think we can avoid having people involved. If Weston is going to be temporary king, then the truth will definitely come out," Cain said.

"Oh Goddess. The world community is going to know we are some bastard children," he sighed.

"Bastards," Cain corrected.

"What?"

"Not bastard children, we are a bastard's children," he said, and the two of them began chuckling over the ridiculous little joke.

I rolled my eyes, then turned to Cain and shoved his food closer to him.
