56: A shocking reunion

Four years later.

I could hear their giggling sounds, but I tried to ignore it.

If I pretended like they were not there, they wouldn't say anything to wake me up. But it seemed they caught on because they immediately began to poke my clothes.

“Mummy, mummy, wake up,” my son, Leo, called.

I turned my head from both of them. “Mommy, please, I'm hungry,” my daughter, Leah whined.

Giving up, I sat up in bed. I rubbed my eyes. My back was still hurting from last night's training and hunting. I just wanted nothing but to rest. My schedule for the day was cleared, and now Clyde had dumped them with me.

"Why don't you two go and meet Uncle Clyde and see if he has something for you?"

They stared at me, their lips pouting.

"I heard he got you guys some chocolates from town."

That did the trick for them, and they both left my side, hurrying to find their Uncle Clyde. I sighed in relief and rested my head back on the pillow, going straight to bed.
