The embarrassed way Alice saw me was unique.

She couldn't figure out what to say to me or how to get out of the mess she had gotten herself into. I was aware that she didn't understand what was going on around me or the connection we had, so she had contradictory thoughts and attitudes towards me, but that didn't take away from the fact that it bothered me that she saw me as a match when the reality was not.

"I didn't—"

I denied and put her out of her misery right away, but not without making the situation clear so there would be no misunderstanding. I had almost had a heart attack hearing what she called Bella, my mate.
