EMILY POV...

"We need to talk," Valerie said, looking very serious. This was actually the first time she has been so serious after so many years. I recalled the night I had walked in here drenched in rain. Begging for her help, begging her to save me from Ethan. I felt happy she did, she was there to save me. That fateful day we both cried in each other's arms, finding a serious way out of the problems. And luckily we found a way out.

"Valerie, you're looking so serious, it has to be something worth talking about. I'm all ears" I said, reducing the volume of the TV, I was watching my favorite telenovela series. Valerie had been off recently, she would always be lost in her thoughts but her bond with my kids was special. They were so close that she was more like their second mom. I knew Valerie loved them to death, my mom would have done the same if she was alive.
