The prophecy II

“What’s wrong?” Irvin frowned.

He was nervous at first but when Irvin held his hand and gave it a squeeze, patiently waiting for him to speak, he finally got the courage to say it and he did. He told Irvin about everything Ayaan said and watched his expressions change with every word and every sentence.

“Okay, first of all, I don’t believe all of that. That’s bullshit.” Irvin stated, as soon as he had stopped talking.

“I feel like there’s more to it.” He murmured looking at their entwined hands. “We should look into it.”

“There’s nothing to look into.” Irvin chuckled, opening his book but then shut it again and stared at Zadkiel’s face. “Wait. You don’t think it has some truth in it, right?”

He fiddled with his fingers, looking down at his fingers. “Listen, Irvin. What Abel and I have… it’s not just friendship. It’s a-”

“What do you mean, it’s not just friendship?” Irvin mocked him, cutting him off.
