Douglas's heart melted with Nyra's words.

"You are a humble girl Nyra. I wish I could have good care of you. That would be my lifelong regret" Douglas confessed.

"He is right. I should have been more reasonable with you. No one has any right to be rude to a kid. My rational thinking was ruled out by my anger of betraying. I let my wolf take control whenever I saw you. I am ashamed of myself" Barbara accepted her mistake.

Nyra was stunned.

She always assumed Barbara as headstrong and proud. For her to admit her fault, she must be really feeling bad.

"Don't say that. I kind of understand how you must have felt all these years. A mate is the one who should protect you, cherish you, and be faithful to only you. When you thought your mate cheated on you, it obviously would become angry" Nyra said reasonably.
