Numb

Nyra stood under the shower even after the water turned cold. But the cold water hitting her body is not at all bothering her. She barely felt it.

The thing which is ripping her apart is the fact that she is an orphan. The life she lived for the past 19 years is a lie. No wonder Douglas never really cared about her.

She was running after him for his love and attention, but it turns out, he is not her father at all. He is letting her stay with his mother because he pities her.

"I am an orphan. My father is not my father, my grandmother is not really mine either. I have nobody. I am an Orphan" Nyra kept repeating those words again and again. 

She lost track of how long she stayed under the cold spray of water. Her skin became wrinkled and she is ice cold to touch. But she is not feeling anything at all.
