CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE

RELIVING THE PAIN

Cloe was devastated that he had found out, especially in this way Gringo held her by the waist, preventing her from getting in the middle of the two, fearing she would be hit by Túlio's uncontrolled blows. Everyone on the street looked astonished. Other people from nearby streets had been warned and came to see what was happening.

"You're despicable!" Túlio yelled as he beat him. "This is low even for you! You're not a respectable cannibal, you don't deserve anyone's trust!"

Cloe managed to break free from Gringo's tight grip by biting his hand and jumped on Túlio's back, pulling him down. It was only when she ripped his shirt that she managed to get him off of Túlio.

"Love, let's go, please, enough!" She shouted so much that her throat hurt, but she finally managed to calm him down.

He didn't look at her or anyone when he left, walking to the open car that Gringo and his friends had arrived in. Gringo threw him the key, he got into the car and left alone.
