Emergency flight

It took a moment for Zane to process it all, and then he rushed from the doorway, allowing Yoko inside, and walked passed Emma, heading for the living room.

After getting a hold of his phone, he immediately called Mr. Alfred's number, looking back to face Emma.

After one rang, his father-in-law answered and he said, “Can you please come to pick up Emma.”

A small frown form on her face as she and Zane's eyes locked, and yet she held in her question.

“I will be there in thirty minutes.” Mr. Alferd promised before hanging up.

The moment Zane put his phone in his pocket, Emma threw the question at him, asking, “Why is he picking me up?”

“I need to head over to Damion, and leaving you alone, here is not an option,” Zane answered.

“I don't need to be babysat.”

“I know. But you need protection, and your father is my only option now.”

“But-”

“Emma, I don't know who ran into our car and almost snatched your life. I am not being controlling here. I need my head clear if I am going to do this.
