Alex looked unfazed by her presence. Soon she will be out for good and he will finally be at peace with Megan. So he thought, but if only he could see the future.

“Alex! Brittany called him again. This time with a little more persistence. You shouldn't treat me this way Alex. We had an agreement”.

“Really”! Alex scoffed. His laughter vibrated in the atmosphere.

“I always knew you to be smart Brittany. You should have gotten the message by now but you just don't”. Alex squinted a little to emphasise his words.

“What do you mean Alex?” Brittany didn't like the tone of his voice. He sounded off. This was Alex when he had something up his sleeve.

“We met Brittany. You wanted something that I couldn't possibly offer”. Alex blew on his hair lazily showing exhaustion. There was no point hiding anything from her; he has won this fight already.

“Oh”! Brittany exclaimed. It seems she had gotten a rough sketch of the message Alex was trying to relay.
