“You are not her,” Alex said with a furious expression while shaking his head as if he had committed an abomination.

Brittany tried to move closer to him but his response made her pause in her track, “ Get away from me,” he slurred, making her shiver lightly.

Brittany looked very scared but she wasn’t the type to give up easily. “ But you said you loved me earlier, you even said you were willing to spend the rest of your life with me if I agree, didn’t you?” She feigned her facial expression to that of hurt and pain but it didn’t work on Alex a bit.

“ I DON’T LOVE YOU,” he retorted with emphasis, disgust clouding his face. Brittany shrieked back at his tone and her hand that was about to touch Alex dropped. Why did he have to be so blunt about everything as if he didn’t care about her feelings at all. She was human too and she felt pain every time she got hurt.
