Chapter 14 - Sarah

A few minutes after, we were in the car. This time it was only Sam and I. Zach was staying to lead the investigation on the prophecy. We had a few hours’ drive to do before we would get near the shrine. Sam’s mom had made us lunches so we would have something to eat on our way.

We spent our time singing to the songs on the radio and talking together. In what seemed like the blink of an eye, we arrived at a forest of old trees. Sam parked the car in a dirt parking lot near the side of the road.

The forest was mainly made up of firs and pines, mixed with some deciduous trees. All those conifers were hiding the light of the sun which made the forest quite dark. Luckily, some rays were still filtering through the deciduous trees. Moss was growing on the tree trunks. This gave the forest an eerie look, kind of like the forest was the home of a magical creature.
