lonely, bewildered. Julia hid among the trees, the night was upon her and her chasers were getting closer. She regretted leaving home out of anger. Her mother had warned her to stop making a hasty decision especially when she was angry, just like she had done today.
She had been so angry with her stepfather for blaming and shouting at her for what was no fault of hers, with anger she left home and decided to take a short walk in the woods and maybe a quick swim in the lake. All had been going according to plan; not until she heard the long loud howling of what she believed werewolves; she panicked and ran; in her confusion and haste, she missed her way. The father she ran the deeper she went into the forest.
Her scream could wake the dead when she came upon a huge creature with furs all over its body, elongated hands, and feet, and drools coming out of its mouth, the huge sharp thing was the last thing she remembered.
When she woke up she found herself in a small cabin and a man was standing before the fire, he was plump and tall and had overgrown beards all over his face.
“You are awake.”
“Who are you?” Julia stuttered.
“Justine. I live here; alone.” he made emphasis on living alone making Julia whimper from fear.
“Why am I doing here.?”
“You fainted. So I brought you here.”
Julia tried to remember the events of the past few minutes, “I saw a wild creature, it was drooling and had sharp huge teeth and long claws: it wanted to kill me.” she shuddered
Justine stared at her for a long time. “You might have imagined things.”
“No I wasn’t, I know what I saw.” Julia insisted. “I have to go, my parents would be worried.” she jumped out of the bed and swooned.
“It’s very late already, you have to wait till morning.”
“I must leave and now” Julia tried to hide her fears, this man could be a serial killer, or God knows what, her imagination ran wild. She had to get out of here immediately. Opening the cabin door, the wind greeted her, and everywhere was covered with snow.”
“It’s snowing,” Julia said confused, when she left home it was summer.
“You have been unconscious for almost two weeks now.”
“You mean I have lived here with you for two weeks.”
“Yes.” Justine felt sorry for the slender lady before him, he regretted his action, he had thought it was a hunter in the woods that was as he jumped out and when she saw her it was too late. She had fainted and hit her head on the rock beside her.
“Why, what happened.”
“I saw you lying on the ground bleeding from your head.”
Julia touched her head, there was a bandage around it, her mother must be so worried. “I have to leave and now.”
“I have told you it’s too late already,
“I can stay here.”
, Why?”
“I can’t know you, and you might harm me.”
“I didn't hurt you for two weeks but nurtured you back to health.” He sounded angry.
“You can go.” Justine went back to lay on the floor beside the fireplace.”
Julia opened the cabin door again and went outside, she ran back in almost immediately. “I will wait till morning.” she declared and went back to the bed she had stayed in since coming into the cabin. For almost an hour, she stared at the man lying on the ground, his back to her. Who was he and how did he find her.

EARLY THE NEXT DAY
“Wake up.” Justine shook her gently.
“Go away,” Julia murmured, then jerked up.
“What time is it.”
“It’s morning already, that's all that matters.”
“Are you my husband? Is this where we live.” her eyes scanned the room, it wasn’t grand but homely for sure, Julia decided.
“Are you alright,,” Justine stuttered or was she pulling her legs.
“Of course, why are you staring at me like that.” she looked at herself, her stomach growled. “Are you angry with me?”
“No, why? What’s going on with you.” his bearded face twisted, she was the almost same height as him.
“I feel dizzy.” she swooned and fainted. Luckily he was standing beside her and was able to prevent her from falling. Justine carried her and laid her on the small bed.
He had lived alone for almost ten years since he eloped with Ella, she was the daughter of the alpha of their pack and he was the omega. They had fallen in love and her father wouldn’t hear of it.
When words reached them of her father’s intention to have him killed, Ella had suggested they eloped. At first, he was so scared and unsure, his self-confidence had always been weak especially since he lived with an abusive stepfather. They had made their home here until she fell sick suddenly and died within two days, everything had happened so fast that it took time for him to process it all.
Now here he was with this fragile young lady that somehow reminded him of his Ella, he should have left her in the forest, maybe someone else would have helped her out. But he knew that was not the case, if he had left her behind she would have fallen prey to the wild beast in the forest. But what will he do with her now? He hopes she remembers where she came from once she awakens because he had to get rid of her as soon as possible.
Taking his spear from where he hung it, he went out to hunt. He needed to feed the beast in his stomach so he could have the energy to confront the one sleeping on his bed.

THE SEARCH****************Narrator’s pov****************Balthazar, his beta Demetrius, and some warriors in the pack all headed out to the woods following the direction Julia gave him earlier. He had a nagging fear that her husband was already dead but he intended to be sure and also search out for the rogue wolves and ensure that they are punished. They all left at dawn, with their spears in hand and some food provisions and canteens of water. Balthazar didn't expect to stay more than a day in the woods if things went well. The journey to Just
SHATTEREDJulia knew something was wrong immediately, phoebe and Balthazar walked into the room. She had been sitting up and was almost through with the cup of hot chocolate tea she had requested for breakfast.Phoebe’s sad eyes and drawn face gave her away, she couldn’t get herself to wear a fake smile and act as if nothing had happened. Julia immediately kept her mug on the table beside her, swallowing hard she asked. “Any news, did you find Justine.” her eyes flickered from phoebe's face to Balthazar, hoping they wouldn't say what her heart was telling her they would.“You need to stay calm.” Phoebe held her hands and asked her to relax. “Everything would be alright.” she insisted&ldquo
UNTO US Phoebe could sense that something was wrong as soon as they came back from the river where Julia dispatched her husband's ashes. She had chosen to pour the ashes on her body then immersed herself into the stream to wash off. Phoebe had been against it. She was afraid that she might catch a cold or even something worse. But Julia had insisted on making her own decisions and no one had the willpower to stop a grieving wife. The African warrior who had gone with Balthazar in search of Justine had gone with them and Demetrius had not been able to come; he had gone on a trip to make more findings on the rogue wolves. According to him, he was doing it to ensure that their pack does not fall victim to them. Balthazar liked the idea and permitted him to go. He left at dawn hours befor
UNBECOMING Julia's body was washed and dressed in preparation for her burial. She had asked to be cremated and her ashes poured into the same river just like her husband. Phoebe had not taken her seriously when she made the request, she had not expected her to die so soon and suddenly. The series of misfortune that had befallen them over the past months made her numb. “We would conduct a purification ceremony after Julia's burial. We need to appease the gods and cleanse ourselves, maybe our misfortunes will end.`` Phoebe informed her husband. “I couldn't agree more, but a miracle came out of all this.’ “What miracle do you speak of,” sh
