Chapter 20: Who was playing a joke on whom now?

Bianca didn't hide her smile as she helped her mother into the car. When she was about to run after her, she was suddenly grabbed from behind. Bianca turned around in surprise, only to find Brian.

"You finally came out, I've been waiting for you here for a while!" he said.

Seeing him in distress with the heavily made-up woman who had left earlier, Bianca paused with empathy and looked at him.

"So, did security kick you out?" she asked.

Brian's face was grim. "It's all because of your reckless reporting! You're still as annoying as when we were in college!"

Bianca was in a good mood and not bothered by what he said.

"It wasn't easy for you to wait outside until now," she said.

Brian sneered. "Well, I want to see the pathetic life of a working girl like you! Even if I get kicked out, I'll still be better off than you!"

Bianca calmly replied, "I'm sorry to disappoint you. Although I sell buns during the day, I still have to go home at night."

Mrs. Mirabel looked suspicious and peeked out.
