Time Is Running Out

[Armal’s POV]

I lay on the grass with Mia pulled close against me. After finishing with my punishment, I showered and found my way here. This would probably be the last moment of peace we would have until after we retrieved her body, and that knowledge alone made me wish that time would just stop.

"This is why I didn’t want to tell you." Mia sighed, catching on to my quickly dwindling thoughts. "We’re fine just like this."

Fine like this? There was no way she was believing what was coming out of her mouth. Hell, I didn’t even believe it.

How we were now wasn’t enough. Sure, it was fine for now, but I wanted to be with her forever, and in order to achieve that, she would have to be separated from Amya.
