Girls outing

(Juliet's POV)

I knew something was off with me since I took my car and drove to work. It felt unnecessarily silent. I didn't know what was going on, until I noticed the silence. Everything was too peaceful than normal. Then I realized I hadn't received Alice's calls since the day I chased her out of my house. She just simply left as I had asked her, and cut me off.

I won't blame her. I would blame myself for flaring up too much. I didn't know why my angst was going over my head these days that I would ask my own best friend to leave my house. In fact, Alice was no longer a friend to me, she was a family to me right now. And I literally just casted that family out.

Jogging my memory, I remembered all the time I and Alice had spent together as friends, right from childhood. The day I knew I had to take Alice as my best friend — consciously, or not — was when she lied on herself to protect me while we were still at college. We weren't even very close that time, yet she still did it.
