Chapter Nineteen: The Walking Enemy

Elona woke up early even though her body protested with her. She had to see Xachary so sleeping was the last thing on her mind. She stumbled as she walked down the path that led her to the river. She was stopped from reaching the river by a young woman named Elethu. She had a bucket of water with her.

"Elo?" She was surprised to see Elona up so early even after her night shift. " Shouldn't you be sleeping?"

"Ele I will go to sleep once I'm done with my errands." Elona told her politely before she tried to walk past Elethu who quickly grabbed Elona's wrist. "Ele?" Elona was not amused but she would give Elethu some credit. Usually the girl didn't bother her much. Just said hello way too many times. Which Elona often just ignored.

"Elo", Elethu whispered the name out like something sweet she had just tasted. "I heard you and your fiance broke your alliance."

"He married my sister. No alliance was broken." Elona eyed Elethu's hand on her wrist. "My dear please fre
