“Does it still hurt?” Aemon asked after cleaning her wounds. It’s not as bad as before, but it still hurts like hell. However, she can move around better than before.

“Yeah, but it’s tolerable now.” She lied to avoid worrying Aemon. She is aware how frustrated he is these past few days already. It is all because of Rafael and Leonora. She doesn’t want to add another burden to him.

“Do you want something? I will be cooking.” He uttered and stood up. This is the hardest thing she is used to. When she gets better, everything will be back to what it used to be. Aemon goes to his company so early and comes back in the evening. There she goes again, where she was longing for her husband’s presence.

“I’m craving fried chicken,” she answered and wrapped her arms around his waist. Among all the soaring waves and striking storms, she finds this calming and peaceful—away from all the perils that surround them.

“I’ll cook it for you,” he said and planted a soft kiss on her forehead.
