Chapter 11

Ned slowly opens his eyes as he hears his name being called. He turns to face his grandma and sees the pain etched on her face. He quickly sits up and leans towards her.

"What is it, Grandma? Are you okay?" he asks with concern.

His grandma takes a deep breath before speaking. "I'm in pain, Ned. I can't sit up properly," she says, wincing.

Ned reaches for the button to call the nurse. "I'll call the nurse right away, Grandma. Don't worry, they'll give you something for the pain," he assures her.

Just then, the nurse walks in and checks on his grandma. She administers some pain medication and asks Ned to help her sit up so she can eat her breakfast.

As they assist his grandma with her breakfast, she looks up at Ned and says, "You should go see your mother, Ned. She sounded worried on the phone last night."

Ned sighs. "I know, Grandma. I'll go see her as soon as I can," he says.

His grandma nods. "You should. Family is important, Ned. Don't forget that," she says with a smile.
