DAHLIA

Silly me, I thought this walk was about getting to know me and spending some time with me. Apparently, it was just to butter me up for information that Mylo wanted. 

Mylo tried to give me a rundown on his siblings, but once we entered the clearing trying to remember all of that became a task. The clearing was gorgeous, and a beautiful notion that I tried not to get too swept up in wishing would be part of Nora’s future.

The way he confirmed he wanted an heir sent a familiar chill through me. I thought maybe I could expect more, but it was naive to think he was any more than tolerating Nora for my benefit.
