CH1 Vampire Awakening

Laurence's POV:

I sat up slowly in bed, I could feel the sun setting off in the distance as it was now dusk. I spent most of the day transforming into a vampire. I could still feel my body aching from the transformation I took on after an impact of a car crashing into me. A vampire had saved me last night. I let out a small moan as my fangs exposed and hunger struck me. I looked over at the sleeping vampire next to me and visualized him telling me his name, Silas Rosario. I could imagine him ordering off his phone for maids to bring us a bottle of blood. My eyes flickered to the straight jacket I had once been in as a human. I slipped my hands into my maker's pocket and pulled out his phone, using his thumb to unlock it. I scanned my fingers over the keyboard, telling a maid we'd need two bottles of blood. I sat his phone on his chest then stood up, my head stinging. I let out a small hiss as knowledge flowed through me at once of where I was, Silas telling me everything about the place, who he was, and most importantly that I was his fledgling and how honest I would have to be with him. I laid back as I imagined meeting his brothers, the other fledglings that have grown into fine young vampires, and the two little twins Everest gave birth to. I closed my eyes slowly, taking in a deep breath as my knew knowledge started to rest in my memories before the events could even happen. I already knew every crook and cranny of the castle without lifting my finger. There was werewolves in the maze, their scent coming on strong for me as if I was standing in their pack house with them. I opened my eyes, seeing I was still resting with Silas. I slipped out of bed before he could and made my way over to the bathroom, stepping inside. I looked towards the closet and instantly knew there was clothes that were inside that could fit me. The maids had placed them in there while I was turning.

I cut the sink water on and rubbed my face down with the cold water, looking at my features in the mirror. I glanced over my joker like green hair that curled and was pushed back, just reaching my jaw length if left alone. My eyes shinned a golden red. I had a strong jaw for an immortal sixteen year old. I could cut off as eighteen easily though. I tilted my head to the side, looking for any marks on my neck. My skin was clear. The scars, cuts, and wounds were all healed. I stripped out of my white jump suit from the asylum and cut the shower on. I turned the sink off and stared into my eyes for a few minutes in the mirror. I exposed my fangs, checking out their length before flickering my eyes to the tooth brush and tooth paste laid out on the counter neatly for me. I picked it up and started to brush my teeth, waiting for the water in the shower to warm up. When I finished with my teeth I rinsed my mouth and brush off, setting it to the side. I slipped out of my white boxers and took my clothes from the asylum and threw them straight into the trash can. I'll never put on another pair of those.

I stepped into the shower, relaxing as the water rushed over my skin and soothed it. I rubbed the delicious smelling axe Apollo soap onto my body, taking it slow to admire every curve of my tall and slenderness. When I finished I took my time with my hair, placing a type of gel in it first before shampooing and rinsing. I made sure to be very delicate at washing my hair, not wanting to loose any dye. The gel would help hold the color in. Green was a hard color to get to stick to your hair. You had to be extra careful in the shower. You might step in with green hair and walk out with bleach blonde. When I had my hair washed and scalp massaged, I cut the water off and took a towel off of a waiting rack by the shower curtain and wrapped it around my body.

That demon will never be able to catch my death if I can see it coming and prevent it from happening. I'll have to respect Silas for the precious gift he bestowed upon me. "What a cruel world," I chuckled. "To a starving demon." Silas had awoken my ability to know everything the night he turned me. I can see the past, presence, and future, and even more. I can see other dimensions just on the edge of my imagination. I was a new person now. Not the same human that suffered only hours before.

I stepped into the closet and ran my fingers against the different outfits I could choose from, enjoying the textures. I decided to put on boxers, dress pants that weren't baggy and made my legs show off in the slender department. I put on a white dress shirt then one of the red silky vests. I put on a matching bow tie and slipped into black dress shoes. I'll make sure to look like a presentable fledgling for Silas, a vampire king. I stepped out into my bedroom and glanced around before looking directly at him. Two maids had brought us a couple of bottles of blood while I was enjoying the soap upon my body. I gave a bright smile to Silas.

"Good evening," I purred with delight. He opened his eyes slowly, the beautiful blue shocking me even though I knew they would be a sky blue. He purred in amusement as he saw me then sat up.

"Hello," he purred to me, his voice silky and sweet and warm sounding compared to the demon's velvet voice. He ran a hand through his silvery hair then glanced towards the nightstand in faint surprise, not having expected blood to be laying out for us. "Was it Everest?" He asked himself softly in confusion but then looked towards me. "Are you hungry?"

"No it wasn't Everest. I used your phone," I explained before walking over to one of the bottles of blood and opened it. I started to suck it down, moaning at the taste. It was better than I expected. He frowned slightly and watched me.

"You used my phone? How did you... my thumb huh?" He looked at his hand then sighed, laying back in the bed. "You're a strange fledgling. I haven't had one ever steal my phone then order blood off it and go take care of themselves the way you've done. It's like you don't even need me to show you things," he sighed out and played with his hair, curling it around his fingers.

"No, I don't. I'm capable of doing this on my own, but your company is nice." I told him and sat down on the bed and purred towards him. "I've been blessed. I can see the past, presence, and future. Thank you." I smiled softly. "That demon will never have my soul." He frowned a little and looked towards me.

"Well that's depressing," he mumbled. "My own fledgling doesn't need me."

"I could fake being needy if that's what you want." I gave him a small smile. He sighed to me.

"No, it's fine.... I'm just the guy who hit you with his car," he said then grabbed his bottle, starting to drink from it. "I have a lot of work to do as king anyways... and I have another fledgling as well around here somewhere. I'll still watch you, but I guess I won't have to really teach you anything. You're welcome to stay here."

"Well of course I'm going to stay here. Without you I have nothing." I smiled sweetly. "I'll be useful to you."

"I'm not after you being useful," he told me and sighed. "Don't worry too much." He purred at me then ruffled my hair. "I guess it's alright if you already know everything. You're still my fledgling."

"Yeah, I'm still your fledgling. By the way, you really need to get light on your strict rules. No biting.... that's unfair." He frowned a little at me.

"It's not unfair. You ask for permission first. It seems decent enough," he told me and then took another sip of his blood. "Besides, there is a cheap supply of blood out there now. It's easier to be fed nowadays."

"Yeah if you like drinking out of glass instead of warm skin...." I mumbled. "So, you gonna introduce me to all of your brothers and sister?"

"Well... soon," Silas told me and then finished his blood off, setting it aside. "Do you have any questions? Any at all?" He frowned. "Do you know everything... like biting, rules, mates, fate, and whatnot? Powers?"

"Oh yeah," I told him and nodded. "I've heard it all by now." I rubbed my temples. "Especially getting powers loud and clear." He sighed and then got to his feet.

"Well... if you ever do get any questions, don't be afraid to tell me- Oh, and you obviously know that you must absolutely tell me everything, right?" He smirked at me then. "With you being able to see everything, I expect you to communicate with me the simple things like you need food or you want something or your thoughts. We have to have an open relationship between each other, no secrets from you."

"Well that'll be hard but I'll try to keep an open mind to tell you everything," I smirked. He nodded then and started for the door.

"Good, I'm going to go get dressed. Stay in here," he told me firmly, looking at me over his shoulder before he left.

"What? Seriously?" I asked and frowned. I crossed my arms and sat down on the foot of my bed. He left his fledgling to go put clothes on? He came back after a few minutes, dressed in a white button up long sleeve dress shirt that he left unbuttoned at the top and a pair of black skinny jeans.

"Alright~ Let's go," he told me and smiled. "I'll adjust to you knowing most everything somehow," he told me with a hopeful look in his eyes. "Just because you know everything doesn't mean that we can't have a close fledgling maker relationship."

"Of course," I purred. "Let's go." I started out the room and looked at the dimmed halls with shadows lurking. He followed me out and shut the door, watching me then put his hands in his pockets with a small sigh as he started to walk down the hall. I frowned and waited for him to get ahead of me so I wouldn't show off on knowing where I was going. He glanced back at me and laughed.

"Look, you don't have to pretend Laurence. I need to learn to deal with it," he told me and waved me over. "Don't hold back because I whined." I laughed and linked arms with him.

"Sorry but I think I need you this time." I smiled sweetly to him.

"Need me?" He laughed a little and shook his head.

"Yeah, to not look so sad." I pinched his cheek. He gave me a playful growl and then exposed his fangs at me. I exposed mine and giggled. He watched me curiously then stopped us.

"You know... if you know everything, you should know when you're going to meet the love of your life? Are you excited or are you not into gooey love relationships?" He teased me then started to walk us again, unsharpening his fangs. I frowned as I thought it over.

"You know... It's cloudy." I told him softly.

"Cloudy?" He asked and frowned. "So it's not all seeing?"

"Guess not," I told him and shrugged. "Or maybe I'm just not trying yet, maybe it hasn't came to me yet. Everything is a lot to take in." I followed after him with a small hum.

"Hmm... makes sense," he told me and then patted my arm that was linked through his. "I hope Charles doesn't get upset about you being another one of my fledglings."

"Oh I can't wait to meet Charles," I purred.

"He's fun," he hummed out and then pulled me into the nightroom and sat me down on the couch. He pulled out his phone and walked away, starting to text his siblings and some others to meet us down here. I waited patiently with excitement. He put his phone up then looked towards me before he walked over and sat down beside me quietly.

"What about you?" I asked him and purred. "Any mates?" He glanced at me then shook his head.

"No... not any current ones," he told me and looked at his nails. "I haven't been fortunate to meet my true mate... not that I probably ever will... and I'm too busy to search for a queen. I have a couple of ex's. I'm not really looking for love anymore anyways. I'm too busy to go out of my way to find love." I nodded and looked directly at the door, waiting for his family to show.
