Chapter 12 Nightmare
His eyes shot open and found her sobbing… in her sleep. Tears rolled off to one side, escaping from her tightly shut lids. She sniffled as liquid mucus threatened to escape and her lips trembled.
“P…Please… n-no…,” she mumbled. “I…It…hu-hurts me…”
She was doing it again. He shifted closer to her so her head was aligned with his chest and he ran his hand down her back. “Ssshhh… It’s alright, love. No one will hurt you here. I’m here for you,” he whispered, resting his chin on the top of her head and kissing it softly.
She kept making incoherent noises as she sobbed harder and Caelum whispered to her, in hopes that his words would somehow reach her, a part of him hoping it wouldn’t be violent tonight. But it wouldn’t go as he hoped
