Chapter 21

A prickly feeling almost as if tiny ants were crawling up my hands and legs made me rub my sweaty palms on my faded jeans as the car broke through the forest turning into the driveway of the pack house.

"You know you don't have to be a wolf for me to know when something is wrong with you," Creed said, and I kept my eyes on my lap as the car came to a stop.

The car ride was mostly silent. I was too busy anticipating what I was going to say to everyone. "I feel terrible." There was no point in lying to him about my guilt.

"You were always too hard on yourself as a child. The easiest teenager I've met. You reprimanded yourself the moment you knew you did something wrong. Do you remember the pranks you and Jordan played on me?" He laughed.

I felt myself at ease at the memory. "We took it too far sometimes."

"I agree after the frog in my boot," he chuckled causing me to smile and some of those prickling ants to fade.
