Astena strode forward, her anger barely contained. Ragnar sat on his throne, his face impassive. Miranda, her niece, stood beside her, her eyes darting nervously around the room.

"Ragnar, I demand that you release Miranda into my care," Astena said, her voice trembling with emotion.

Ragnar arched an eyebrow. "Didn't you hear what I said?"

"You know better than anyone else that she doesn't belong here. She deserves to be with her family, not held hostage by you."

“Then she shouldn't have been trying to go beyond her boundaries.”

Ragnar leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. "Well, don't think it as meolding her hostage, Astena. Simply imagine thay I'm onlykeeping her safe."

"Safe? From what?"

"From herself," Ragnar said cryptically. "Who knows, I might have her killed if she's not under my nose. If she's here, I can keep an eye on her and trust her to behave."
